The annual U-17 World Cup is good, actually

It’s officially official. From 2025, the FIFA Under-17 World Cup will be held annually. The first five editions of the revamped men’s and women’s World Cups will be held in Qatar and Morocco respectively.
The announcement has been met with the expected shrieking that accompanies every FIFA announcement these days. That’s understandable. FIFA has built a reputation over many decades as a thoroughly broken institution that the average punter has little faith will properly administer the game.
With that being said, there are many reasons to be positive about FIFA’s changes to the Under-17 World Cup.
So in this Editor’s Take, let’s address some of the concerns I've seen floating around about the revamped Under-17 World Cups — from the understandable to the downright bizarre — and explain why I think this is a positive development, actually.
