Five of the best: Standouts at the UEFA U-19 EURO
Here are five players – plus a few more – that we enjoyed watching in Malta.
That’s that for the bumper summer of men’s youth international football. It started with the UEFA U-17 EURO, peaked with the FIFA U-20 World Cup, then wound down with the U-21 and U-19 editions of the European Championship.
The latter has been a fun way to round off a hectic few months. It’s smaller format was much less intense and demanding, giving us some time to focus on other things. Stevie has also reset his haywire sleeping patterns.
In case you missed them, here are our matchday round-ups:
Matchday 1: The Marvellous Manuel Ángel and a near-miracle
Matchday 2: García, Guðmundsson, and a boy named Basil
Matchday 3: Hasa has a blinder
To bring the curtain down on it, we’ve picked out five of the best from this tournament. And we’ve also done mini write-ups on an honourable mention from each nation at the bottom.
By the way: If you’ve loved our tournament coverage, stick with us through the season as we’ll do very similar stuff with the UEFA Youth League.
