This is The Shortlist — the quick, digestible way to get to know football’s hottest property, as told by the scouts who’ve watched them.
Llew Davies is our Scouting Editor here at SCOUTED, and he’s prattling on about one of his favourite prospects right now: a Montenegrin De Bruyne.
SCOUTED: Llew, you’ve chosen to add Vasilije Adžić to our Shortlist this week. Why?
LLEW DAVIES: Vasilije Adžić is perhaps the biggest talent emerging from Balkan football right now - certainly from Montenegrin football.
He’s an 18-year-old attacking midfielder who has just joined Juventus after being a regular starter for Budoćnost Podgorica (try saying that five times fast - ed) over the past year or so.
He has over 70 senior appearances to his name already, he’s played at every youth level for Montenegro including the U-21’s, and the move to Juventus’ Next-Gen system is a big step.
He’s already proven the step wasn’t beyond him. He’s made a huge early splash for Thiago Motta’s new-look side during pre-season, so it’s time to jump on this bandwagon.
