Talking Transfers: What next for Manchester United?

Aaron Moniz attempts to rebuild a crumbling empire, brick by brick.

We’re back with Talking Transfers! The series makes its return as the domestic season comes to a close and the summer hurtles toward us. The series will be a pillar of The Summer of SCOUTED, which kicked off this week.

Anyway, where better to start than at a derelict Old Trafford, where Manchester United (specifically the men’s team, we note) are closing up another shoddy season laced with disruption and disappointment.

Substandard football, dysfunctional stars, injury issues, off-field drama, media battles, waterfalls off the roof… Jim Ratcliffe has a lot of important stuff to sort out this summer, pronto. But what exactly needs doing?

We spoke to Aaron Moniz, long-time friend of SCOUTED and one half of the exceptional Devils in the Details podcast, to rattle through United’s priorities.

What we talked about…

  • Thoughts on the season and Ten Hag’s (likely) departure

  • INEOS replacing the Glazers and the heady expectations

  • Kobbie Mainoo’s big breakout and the academy as a whole

  • What comes next for Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho?

  • Potential new signings, including Olise, Neves and Yoro

  • Who the next manager should be, and loads more…
