Bayer Leverkusen sign a SCOUTED favourite (again)
Plus: Damsgaard's extraordinary comeback, Aznou makes his bow, Monaco's red lightning, and much more.
SCOUT NOTES is back for another week, baby, and this edition is a juicer.
I’m allowed to say that because I didn’t write it. That responsibility falls to our Scouting Editor Llew Davies, as it does every week. However, he is allergic to writing both introductions and conclusions, fascinatingly. So here I am, Tom, helping a grown man say hello and goodbye.
Now I’m here, I want to take this opportunity to let you all know what our teammate Jake Entwistle is currently up to. Instead of writing Monday Night SCOUTED this week, Jake is walking 60km to raise money for Movember, in memory of his father.
He’s already broken his fundraising goal because he’s a beast, but if you can spare anything to get him across the physical finish line, I know it’d make a difference. It’s dark and really cold out there. Here’s the link.
Okay! Back to the football. Llew’s selection of youth-centric stories is a real treat this week. I especially love how we walks us through a lightning-fast AS Monaco breakaway, led by SCOUTED alumni, like it’s a movie scene.
And of course it wouldn’t be SCOUT NOTES without the players, and Llew’s picked out a handful for highlight: some old heads, some new, all writing fresh chapters in their own stories.
So sit back, relax, and let Cymru’s strongest soldier tell you a tale of football’s future.
In this week’s SCOUT NOTES…
The beginnings of a big career (at Bayern München)
The beginnings of a slightly less big career (at Leeds United)
Premier League’s Comeback Player of the Year
A Bundesliga club has stolen one of Europe’s best
Monaco’s all-SCOUTED comeback, and loads more…
