Just get Trent in there: SCOUT NOTES, March 26
In lieu of a proper newsletter, here's a free podcast for you.
Hey everyone,
Llew’s off this week, so our free SCOUT NOTES newsletter will be taking a brief hiatus.
Instead, I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce you all to another source for bitesized scouting and football news: SCOUTED Weekly.
Weekly is our free, regular podcast that brings the team together to chat about some of the week’s biggest stories. On this week’s edition Tom Curren (me), Phil Costa and Steve Ganavas chat about the flag (sorry, it’s brief), the rise of Endrick, their ideal England teams and the future of Germany’s national side.
Weekly is an informal chat between friends; it’s meant as a way for you guys to get to know the team, and vice versa. And at the end of every week we play a round of the greatest gameshow known to mankind, Handbook History. Trust me, you will never want to watch The Chase again. In fact I am debating a career change. Someone tell the the BBC to return my calls.
We have a blast recording this show and we’d love to have more of you along to listen. You can do so above, via these links – Apple and Spotify – or by searching for SCOUTED wherever you get your podcasts. It’s the show with the dumb titles so you don’t confuse it with Joe’s excellent work on his interview series.
Now showing on Notebook
While I have you here, I thought I might as well let you know what we’ve got coming up for paid subscribers on Notebook this week and in the near future.
We’re posting a little less these days, as you might have noticed. My editorial focus has shifted away from shorter newsletters, delivered quickly, and towards longer, more detailed, meticulously researched essays from a host of guest authors. We want Notebook to offer a reading experience you can’t get anywhere else in football media, and we have stories coming up we think deliver on that.
Coming soon, you can look forward to:
A new original essay from
on the cutting-edge recruitment processes of Toulouse FC- makes his return to the publication with a detailed look at how U-23 signings fare in the Premier League
The crown jewel of SCOUTED50, Evan Ferguson, is finally profiled by
- details SCOUTED50’s 47th-ranked player, Michael Kayode
A new edition of The Technical Area, my monthly blog on the behind-the-scenes of trying to run an indie media business, debuts this weekend
And much more, including more video essays, which we’ll begin to share here too, so Notebook readers can enjoy the full SCOUTED experience in whatever form they like.
My dear readers. More than 500 of you are now paying subscribers to our little magazine.
I want to make this indispensable resource for you all, with stories and analysis that meets you wherever you are and is always an absolute joy to read, watch or listen to.
Thank you so much for being here. Let’s keep pushing.
Warmly,
Tom
